Dinosaur Question of the Day is a general-audience dinosaur site. Public visitors do not need an account. This page combines the core privacy and terms information for site use, member accounts, contact reports, and the private editor surface.
What the site collects
Public browsing does not require an account. The public contact form collects only the information a visitor chooses to submit. Members and approved editors use an email address, password hash, session cookie, and verification or password-reset tokens to secure their accounts.
Members may retain limited quiz-attempt data so DQOTD can show their saved scores and stats. Public quiz scores are shown immediately but are not saved until a visitor creates and verifies an account.
Security and abuse-prevention systems may also process request metadata such as IP- based throttle buckets, origin checks, and server logs.
Dinosaur Question of the Day does not currently sell paid memberships or collect payment-card information.
How the site uses that data
Dinosaur Question of the Day may send account-verification, password-recovery, security, and contact-form response emails from a Dinosaur Question of the Day- controlled address.
If you receive an account or security email that you did not request, do not use the link in that message. Instead, return to the site directly and use the contact form.
The site uses account data to secure sign-in, password recovery, saved quiz history, member-resource access, and approved content administration.
Security data is used to defend against login abuse, token replay, cross-origin writes, and other misuse.
The site is not built around ad targeting, and account data is not collected for behavioral advertising.
Children under 13
Dinosaur Question of the Day offers accounts only to people who confirm they are 13 or older and is not intended to create accounts for children under 13. If the site learns that it has collected personal information from a child under 13 without the required parental process, that information should be deleted promptly.
If the site later shifts toward a child-directed audience, additional legal and operational safeguards would be required.
If a parent or guardian believes under-13 personal information was collected through Dinosaur Question of the Day, use the contact form so the report can be reviewed and the data can be deleted if appropriate.
Service providers
Dinosaur Question of the Day relies on service providers such as hosting, database, storage, email, and content-delivery vendors. Those providers should receive only the data needed to operate the service.
Security and retention
Dinosaur Question of the Day uses password hashing, signed session cookies, email verification, password-reset tokens, origin protections, throttling, and role-based admin controls. No internet service can promise absolute security, but account data should be kept to the minimum needed to operate DQOTD safely.
Users are responsible for keeping account credentials private and for signing out from shared devices. Dinosaur Question of the Day may suspend or limit access if activity appears abusive, automated, or unsafe.
Using the site
Dinosaur Question of the Day is an educational and entertainment site. It is not scientific, medical, legal, or educational accreditation advice.
Member accounts are intended for people age 13 and older. Keep your password private and use the account features only for your own access.
Dinosaur Question of the Day may change, limit, or remove features, access rules, content, or accounts when needed for safety, maintenance, editorial reasons, or legal concerns.
Acceptable use
Do not try to bypass member or admin controls, attack the service, automate abusive traffic, scrape protected content, or interfere with normal site operation.
DQOTD remains the only authorized publishing surface for taxonomy, quiz content, resources, uploads, and other site-managed editorial actions unless the site owner explicitly changes that rule later.
Accounts, quiz history, and premium access
Public quiz play stays available without an account. Member accounts are used for premium access and for saving eligible quiz attempts. Saved quiz history may be capped or adjusted as the site evolves.
Password reset and verification links are security-sensitive and should be used only by the account owner.

Images, art, and source references
Live Dinodex content should only use images or artwork that Dinosaur Question of the Day created, licensed, or has permission to use. Image provenance should be maintained for published dino entries.
Published Dinodex entries should include an image source, using either a full source URL or the original-art marker for site-created artwork. Factual writeups may also include a separate data-source note and supporting link.
If you believe content on Dinosaur Question of the Day infringes your rights or should be corrected or removed, use the contact form with the specific page, asset, and reason for the report.
Third-party links and educational content
Dinosaur Question of the Day may link to outside resources, papers, museums, or media. Those third-party sites are controlled by their own operators, not by DQOTD.
Dinosaur content is shared for education and enjoyment. Even when Dinosaur Question of the Day aims for accuracy, content may change, be updated, or contain mistakes, and should not be treated as professional, scientific, medical, legal, or educational accreditation advice.
